Hi,

Just wanted to know if there is anyway in which to create a mail filter for junk mail without using the rules wizard. I want this script to be applied to many computers across a network.

I have read that a filters.txt file exists in the outlook directory which has a list of rules which are used for scanning for junk mail. I have tried editing this, but adding your own rules to this list has no effect on the junk mail sent.

Is there another file which exists that i can gain access to and edit?

Thanks

Hi,
I had same problem, NOW FIXED...

open outlook and remove any rules set up allready, creat a new rule to check messages on arrival for eith or sobject or contants with porn type junk words, move to another folder or what ever.
export the rule to a network drive, by clicking the option button, note it saves all the rules in your outlook setup.
then import the rule on other pc's, takes but a minute to import.
i think you could probably create a script to copy the new rule .rwz to the location of the users settings files for outlook, find by saving a normal rule and find it's location.

or email staff with details on what to do, may be a total of 10 mouse clicks , even our staff can do that!!

hope that made sense.
