I have created a shortcut on my desktop to get me directly to a particular site. Unfortunately the site/shortcut will load on the latest window open. Is there a switch/parameter that I can place in the shortcut so that it will always load the site in a new window. In other words, if I create a shortcut to an MS-Dos window, i can place -doskey to always run doskey so that I don't have to type doskey whenever i start a command prompt.

Thanks

IE 6: tools - internet options - advanced

then untick "reuse windows for launching shortcuts"

It should work.

Hope it helps !

Your 2. question : Right-click the MS-DOS shortcut, select properties, program , batch file , and enter the doskey command.

Sorry, I was too fast and I did not see your second question.

The doskey command is enabled by default in the WIN2000 dos, IF you start the dosprompt by running cmd.exe.

If you run the dos window with command.com, the doskey won't be available.

thank you that worked. I was not asking a question on how to do it in DOS, I already knew that. It's a good thing that you posted those answers so that now someone else can use it.

Thanks again
