Is it possible at all to create 2 web application with the port (lets say 80) in sharepoint 2007. Why would I want to do it, you might ask. The reason is that I have multiple IPs assigned to the SPS server and DNS will resolve it to those IPs by default on port 80. So I will create multiple web applications on port 80 in SPS and then I will go into IIS and change the IP for the web application to unique values. But unfortunately, I am unable to do so.

Can't I change the port, IP info at all from IIS. I can change the IP in IIS, but the port simply doesnt change. Even if I change it, it changes back to what it originally was.

Is there a way this can be done? What is the concept I am missing here?

Please advice.
Thanks.
