Hi, I hope someone has run across a solution for this one before.

I need to create ~450 user accounts and would like to streamline the process as much as possible. These will only be generic accounts in that they won't run a login script or have a home directory.

Is there a way to use a user template (or any other way) and create multiple users at once without having to manually type each one?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Mike Markett
markettm@nasd.com

"Net User" will create the accounts. If you can generate the list of IDs, you should be able to play some games to add "net user" commands and options in front ant behind to make a batch file.

My first stab would be to get the ID's into a column in a spreadsheet. Create a column in front of that that is filled with "Net User" and a column after that is filled with "/ADD" and the other options you want. (Do a "net user /?" to see the syntax and poke around in the help system to see how to use it.)

Once you get the spreadsheet the way you wan, export it as a space delimited file with a .bat extension and yuou should be ready to go.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

If everything seems to be going well: you don't have enough information.......
