I have some where in the neighborhood of 600 text files that I need to link to a access database. The files are tab delimitated and the first row contains the filed names. I’m looking for some script that will search the directory for all files that contain *_data.txt files and create a separate link in the database for each file found and use the same name as the text file.

Hiya,

You're in the wrong forum really.

You should use VB to do this. VB could create the tables one by one based on the text file name that is found - may be long-winded.

It would be better/quicker to use VB to consolidate all of the files into one but adding a column to include the file name. (Pretty simple exercise really).

That way you could then use Access to import the one file easily.
