Hello and Happy Holidays to all!

HP OV NNM 6.2 on Solaris 2.6

How can i produce a self-generated report that outputs a daily listing of all the link outages between node interfaces (to include down times and up times). I would then need to be able to summarize the report by host_name & instance or my ip address.

I'm thinking I can export my event and top to our solid.db/datawarehouse via cron. Then run ovdwquery -out myReport(a sql script on the appropiate tables). Does that sound like it would work or that it is the best solution? I actually would prefer a html output with active links that display all the hostInstances with total down time & uptime. Then if i clicked on hostInstanceX it will list all the times for that hostInstance that occurred during the time period.

Clues, Tips, Help, Code,...
Thanks
Greg

Greg,

I too am in need of the same report for management. Have you gotten any more info on the method to extract this data from the solid.db?

Thanks,
Dennis

There's a DBI module for Solid which might suit you. It's marked as exprimental but I would imagine that, as a minimum, you can select data from the database. Have a look on CPAN Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.
