Thanks. I may not need it though. I want to install Windows XP in a VirtualBox VM on an OpenSolaris host which does run through the installaion but it won't boot. I was going to try the installation by an iso but according to the user's manual the installation should work.
I might go back one release of VirtualBox to 2.0.6 instead of using the newest release 2.1. Then after I get Windows installed in the VM then I can proceed with my Crossbow installation to create my virutal routers and switches and my other Solaris Containers (reverse proxy, DNS, mail, web, database, app server).
but the problem I see, is that you are using a recovery CD to create a bootable image, which may not work in a VM environment... most recovery CD's only have a bootable system which creates the install from a hidden partition, where all the necessary files are stored, others are tied into the systems and will only work when they get the correct information from the BIOS, e.g. SLIC table...
having said the above, I would go ahead and DL nLite, which will create a custom install CD and makes an ISO image when it is done... though I have not tried it with a recovery CD, it will work with all other XP install CD...
