Hello All,
I just started at a job where they are using ReportNet and PowerPlay for reporting. I have never used ReportNet and I am struggling with a few basic issues like building some cubes and posting them on the reportnet server. First, how do I create IQDs without having Impromptu and then how do I publish the cubes to the server?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Rick, assuming you're proficient in SQL, you can write your own iqds in notepad or similar - see thread401-109598.
Can't help with ReportNet, though - sorry!

Hi! ReportNet comes with Framework Manager. a data modeling/package generation tool which can be used to generate iqd's. This is the "replacement" for Architect.

Your best bet is support.cognos.com. It takes time to find relevant information, but the info is there. Look for a pdf file titled: "Creating IQD Files" You can also use FrameWork Manager to generate these IQD files. To publish the cubes, you have to move the cubes to server, then, open the "Cognos Server Administration" application. From there, you run the PowerPlay Enterprise Server Administration. Once there, publishing the cubes is just a click away.
