I am creating a list with several columns to be displayed. One of the columns is a place to list a profile for a "point of contact" (POC) person. I have the POC profiles as Word Documents in a document library; I can get the url for it in the form of:
(of course it's much longer in real life). But when I place it in my list, it takes up a lot of room. I'd like to have the text "Bills Profile" go to that link, trivial in html, but I can't see how to do it in Sharepoint.

Anyone been there and done that?

Thanks,
Rosalie

Change the "Profile" column to a hypertext column. When you create a new item on the list there will be two boxes for the link One for the actual url and one for name.(Bill's Profile)

Just takes a little cut and paste every time you create a new item.

When frustrated remember, in the computer world there is almost always a backdoor.

Thanks! I can't believe I didn't see that option before you pointed it out. [blush] Working like a charm now!
