I am thinking about building a website where people can create flash presentations using texts, pictures, and clips that I supply. Ideally, the user interface would be in flash - my concern is, how could this be done - i'm thinking about writing to xml from the flash UI and reading the xml from a flash player later on to re-construct the customized presentation.

I'm not a flash guru and am not sure how feasible this solution is - is flash flexible enough to let me do this? or is there a better solution out there?

Thanks much!

hi Steph

I'm currently working on a project which requires this sort of creation, ie: user does his stuff and clicks a button which appends the information to a database, which can then be recalled by an independent swf file to recreate his/her drawing.

I'll be putting all files in the DRAW FAQ in teh faq section over the weekend, but if you have a look at my tests (below) and think that it's what you want I'll send you the files involved direct. The process utilises two swf's, 2 PHP files, and a mySQL Database:

to draw something:

to browse all drawings currently held in the database (this is the swf which recreates array values held in the database into a coherent drawing):
(only line tool is recreated in this test version)
