Creating Filter by Form Button ON a Form

I am currently trying to create a DB which has NO toolbars except the File, Menu etc bar and therefore all the buttons required need to be placed on the main form itself.
I am trying to reproduce the "filter by form" and "apply filter/remove filter" buttons to search for records in the DB but am having no joy with this.
It would seem (and I have been told) that this is impossible as the filter by form button reduces other buttons on the form to nothing more than pretty grey squares with pictures on them!! i.e an apply filter button would not work.
If there is any way round this without having to use a toolbar I would be extremly grateful.
Many Thanks
Stacy...

I am just an amature.. trying to do something similar for work.

From wat i've read.. you are interested in writing SQL statements, parameter queries.

Unfortunatly.. i don't know much more than that. All i know is that you replace the condition (ie WHERE data = "test") with a condition using a variable (ie WHERE data = [testVariable])

this new testVariable is altered via Triggering buttons, and menus.

IF you have any luck with this.. write me.. i'm have'n a heck of a time trying to get it down!

Good LUCK

Hi,
Is your ultimate goal to create a report based on what the user has selected? If this is the case, I wrote two FAQ's on how to pass parameters (or criteria) to a query or report based on user selections. Here are the FAQ's:
query: faq703-2696
filter: faq703-2657

There are ways to remove the toolbars, but once the user sees how you have setup the customized selection criteria, they usually don't even care about filter by form.
