Hi EVERYONE !

We have just installed SCO Openserver on our server. We need to have usr, usr1,usr2 and usr3 filesystems aprt from root and swap. During installation we saved some space in the hard disk for creating usr3 filesystem as we have the option of going upto usr, usr1 and usr2 filesystems only.

After installation, we have to use this space(left out during installation) for creating usr3 filesystem.

Can some one help in doing so ?Also can some one throw light on the device naming conventions for hard disk?

Thanks In Advance

dangerous playing with /usr
why are you separating this out to a separate filesystem?
the standard convention is to add /u, /u1....etc.

which version of openserver?
what size and type of hd's are you using?

Can you post the output of this command ?
echo "q\ne" | divvy | awk 'NR<14'
I'm afraid the 8 divisions are populated, so no place left for usr3.
Why a separate /usr FS ?

Hope This Help
PH.

Having never done it, I'll make a guess that you are going to need fdisk to create the partition, divvy to set the partition up, and mkdev fs to link it all together.
