Using the Repository Administratoin Utility I see the object in my database (constraints, tables, etc.) that apparently reside in the Global Shared Work Area. My question is, how do I create an ER diagram using these objects? It seems the only thing I can do is create entities manually using the ER diagrammer, but is there a way to "reverse engineer" the entities from my database into the ER diagrammer?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
regards,
Ed

Ed,

I am assuming that 9i works in the same way as 6i.

In Designer 6i if you open up the Entity Relationship Diagrammer tool with a new blank diagram there is an option on the Utility menu called "Table to Entity Retrofit". This tool looks at the table definitions in the repository and creates entities and relationships based on them.

I hope this helps,

Patrick.

Hi,

I tried to create an ER diagram using ER Diagrammer. Is there any users guide for it? I am confused about the container, Global Shared Work Area etc. Can anyone help me?
