Hello!

My database misses some rows which is completely ok when you take a look at the database only (e.g. no data for a certain organisation unit so they don't fill the database with a row like "orgUnit, 0, 0 ,0" but leave it out).

However, I get some problems with WebFocus which wouldn't be there if I had zeros instead of a missing row.

We first thought about inserting these rows in the database. But: this would be a huge amount. So we wondered whether it is possible to create these missing rows with zeros temporarily (with WebFocus) and then e.g. save it with HOLD and then create my report with the HOLD file as database.

This would be more effective as my report only asks for some and not all organisation units. (In contrast filling the original database up with zeros would mean to do this for all organisation units and these are a lot.)

Has anybody an idea or maybe done this before?

Have you thought about using FRP (Financial Reporting Platform), which is an extension to the TABLE command (previously called FML - Financial Modelling Language)? Instead of sorting on the key field, you specify the desired values, and the order in which they should appear.

If that's not acceptable, then look at the MORE command (universal concatenation), which allows reporting from DIS-similar files in one report
