There is a setting in the transformer.ini file called MultiFileCubeThreshold. This is what must be set to enable cube builds of over 2GB. This value is based on the amount of consolidated records being read into the cube build. I usually start by dividing this number by 4 and making that my setting. This is a good baseline to start at and will produce one mdc files and about 4-5 mdp files. All these files must exist in the same directory if you decide to move the cube to another server.

sai rao,
on the topic of large cubes, it's worth knowing that AntiVirus programs (in my case McAfee VirusScan 7) can take exception to large file generation, so one might need to exclude the location of your temp folder from scanning to avoid transformer "(TR1901) MDC(49)could not save file..." errors.
