This is my first experience with crystal reports. When I try to create a new report and click on 'Data File', I can select my database but it then prompts me for a password. This database is not password protected and when I try to get out of this by pressing ok or cancel I get the following two errors:
"Couldn't find installable ISAM"
"File ....mdb is not a valid database type. Try again"

I did try putting a password on the database but it won't accept the correct password either. Every time I press ok, the prompt box keeps reapearing. Please Help.

Thnx

JennB,

What type of database is it? If it is Access - try username:admin password:(blank) or
username:sa password:(blank)

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. It is an access database but it never prompts me for the username (only the password). It seems that no matter what I type in there the prompt just continues to pop up. Is there any way to tell the system not to prompt for the password?

Hi. I figured it out - Crystal reports didn't recognize the database b/c it was built in Access 2000. once I converted it to Access 98 everything was fine. Thanks for your help

JennB:
You can visit the Seagate Software web page to search for the updated access database driver for your Crystal Reports.
Then it is sure to work in Access 2000 too. Salih Sipahi
