2 questions (Acrobat 5.0):

1) wondering if there is an easy/automated way of creating and sharing Distiller job options over a network (for use with multiple Distiller licenses). Basically want to have everyone have access to the same pre-set job options.

yes, the person would still be able to create their own, but not be able to override the common job options.

another option: while i have not checked it out, i would assume that a PDF server product would have a common set of job options for everyone to use.

2) has anyone gone through a process of developing common job options for Distiller for an entire company to use. if so, what kind of job option names did you use (e.g., email, archive, print quality, web; or jpg low, auto compression high, etc.). have a wide variety of skill levels so thinking that there can't be too many options, yet enough to deal with day-to-day needs (with little training).

As I am sure you are aware, you can create your own set of job options in Distiller and give them a unique name. They should then become available in the drop down list when choosing the type of job options. I would think the easiest way would be to just set up the specific options on everyone's computer. You can probably even make it the default selection. (Mmm...I think Distiller makes the default whatever the previous selection was). I cannot see how this could be easily set up across a network if you have users not exactly computer literate enough to set up their own. Someone else would have to set it up for them, but once in place (use the company name as the title of your specific settings?) it would be fairly easy to use.
