Hi Guys,

I have an Exchange 2007 install in our primary AD site, the boss now wants site resilence in our DR site, i have installed another AD server, we want to use SCR, can i create the cluster even though exchange has been installed or are we going to run into issues?

Thanks

Thanks, so creating a cluster wont kill my disks or anything, and i do need cluster for SCR, i have googled this a lot and its all about setting up SCR, nothing how to install SCR

You can install SCR after the fact, unlike CCR and SCC clusters.

If you're looking for information on installing, look at my old site, or the site I write for now,
Both have a host of articles.

Thanks, i am actually using msexchange.org

maybe im just being blind but can find articles on setting up SCR but nothing on the 2nd exchange install. Do i need to cluster the 2 servers before i install exchange a 2nd time, as if i try to install exchange in our other AD site now it asks for organisation name, just doesnt seem to find the existing mail server

Ok so i dont need a cluster, so i need to look at why my 2nd exchange install cannot see my first exchange install?

sorry for being so slow at this...

Are both using the same DNS? When you installed Exchange, were you able to join the existing org, or did you just install it and give it the same org name?

Just for anyone in the same situation, i did install SCR after the original Exchange 2007 installation. Just joined the existing org and then setup SCR as per technet instructions.

Cheers
