you also may want to consider investing in NT in a Nutshell (O'Rielley) as it has an section on shell (& I use that term loosely scripting w/NT, particularly NT specific commands (net use, net start, cacls, etc).
if you already know B/K (not sure about Bash but I'd be surprised if not) shell for unix/linux there are emmulators available for NT (why learn to stone axe if you can already operate a chainsaw?).
