This is driving me nuts! I have four pictures that I want to make an animated gif out of. How do I insert each picture in the animation pallette as a separate frame. Every time I open a new picture, it puts the new picture as frame 1.

...all images need to be in the same document...

Also, they need to be on seperate Layers...if I'm not mistaken"

Correct. The easy way to do this is:

1) With no images open in PSCS3, go to File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack.
2) If you're picking individual files from various locations, select Use Files, then click Browse and pick the files you want to use (holding down Ctrl to select multiple files)

OR...

If all of the files you're using are in one folder, select Use Folder, then browse to that folder and select it.

3)Hit OK. Photoshop will turn each file into its own layer in a newly created document.

4)Use the Animation panel to set up your animation.
