How do you manage tables and other sql tasks with a command prompt, I can find any type of selection n the menu of enterprise server that opens some typr of command prompt

where is the command prompt

All Tasks/

Tools/

View/

Where is it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi lothadio,
I don't know about which command prompt you are looking. But if you are looking for the window where you can write the T-SQL statements and execute them, then Open the Query Analyzer. You will find it in
START ->
PROGRAM FILES ->
MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 7.0 -> QUERY ANALYZER
or
In Enterprise Manager
TOOLS -> QUERY ANALYZER

Search BOL for "command prompt" without quotes

To manage SQL scripts u can use
OSQL or ISQL(Prefered), for syntax check BOL

NOTE: Some command utils are Case senstive for arguments.

sorry the previous post said prefered was isql
it should have been osql.

osql uses ODBC to connect to SQL Sever
isql uses DB-Library , some SQL Server features are not supported with this.
