Since photoshop is too late to open, I use paintbrush to create a new GIF file. But after creating a GIF image it did not display in the ie. How do I solve this problem?

Similary I could not edit GIF image in paintbrush. Is the paintbrush only used for editing bmp images?

If by Paintbrush you mean Microsoft Paint, then yes, it only handles bitmaps. If Photoshop takes too long for you to open, and you have MS Office, check under it in your programs list under Microsoft Office tools to see if you have Microsoft Photo Editor. If you do, create the image as a bitmap in Paint, then you can open it in Photo editor and use Save As to turn it into a gif file.
