I currently work for a Health Insurance. I am tasked with creating MS Access 2003 Databases for the Health Services Decision Support Department. These Databases all start with the same 12 SQL Server Linked Tables and 3 queries. I would like to create a template with those elements so that when I create a new DB I don't have to keep doing the same links and queries everytime. I created a db with those elements but I have to open that database and then save it to a new location. I would rather have the template available under the create new database option in Access. I'm assuming the file extension should be MDT but how do I save the existing template in that format? and how do I make it available in the Create New DB Template Window?

I would think the easiest way to do it is to create your "master" copy. Then when you need to create a new db, just copy the master, via windows explorer, and paste it into a new folder. You could create a batch job to do that.
