I inherited admin of a Merlin Legend R7 and I need to create an extension that when dialed will dial an outside number? Scenario: Employees dial ext. xxx and the call connects to an outside number (the bosses home office). Any help would be extremely appreciated!

What I think you can do is set up a dummy extension. Use an analog port. Say Extension 409. Set it up as just a normal extension assigned to the line you want it to use. Then plug a phone into the port and set it to Forward to an outside number. Then unplug the phone and make sure you mark the port as a Forward so no one tries to use it. Sorry I dont know the commands to do this but are easily found at Avaya.com's support page

You could use an adjunct extension, renumber it to something in your dial plan, give it trunk to trunk transfer and remote call forward, and finally give it an authorization code.

Then from any key set, access an SA key and dial:

#80-[authorization code]-#-*33-[9 and outside telephone number]-#

This way you don't have to burn an actual port.
