Arcserve 2000 with the latest patches.

I have 2 database servers that have locally attached tape drives on them.

Both DB servers run Arcserve.

Both DB servers do not have client DB agents since they are not availible.

The DB servers automaticly stop their db's at 11:00PM every night.

If arcserve has problems, it will write a file to a directory and the db's will not start up if this file exists at 1:00AM after the backup is done.

I would like to move the backup to our library that runs arcserve. Problem is, i want to use an existing job.

So if clientA fails, i want to create an error file only on clientA so that the DB's don't start up.

Is this possible?

For what they are worth hear are a few ideas that might help.

1) Map a drive to the DB server and have ARCserve save it to that mapped drive.
2) Use the client agent.
