I am trying to get my fax on my switch what do i need to do? I want the caller id of the outgoing fax machine to be equal to the inbound did for the fax. also how do program the fax extention, i went into the aux equipment menu and assigned ext 505 to a fax but it is not getting dial tone, is there something else i must do?

You will need to do 2 tings to make this happen.

1 with the PRI Programming, and another thing with the FAX MACHINE itself.

In the PRI, you will need to set your number to send to match the D-I-D's you are getting.

That is, let's say the D-I-D they are sending 719-234-5500 to 5599.

Then you will want the NUMBER TO SEND to be set to 719-234-5100.

The switch will figure out that extension 505 sends 719-234-5505.

Now, that will affect all extensions. That is, all extensions will now send their own D-I-D.

Some folks like that, some do not.

Now, the fax is going to have to insert a 9, but that's not usually an issue, most of them are able to be programmed with that feature.

do i have to have a modual for the magix that supports analog lines? I was trying to do this on 412 TL or whatever. Is that going to work? I was searching through the forum and found that certian moduals are not able to do that.

If you want to connect a fax machine to the Magix you will need an analog module - like an 016 T/R or 016 ETR module.

Well, if you have any open slots, you could add an 016 TRR Module.

If you do have an extra slot, it's the smart choice to add an 016 analog card, since you have a T1 & DID numbers. Save the $100 bucks for Telco installing 1 line, apply it to buying card and you can setup 15 other faxes or single line devices without any expense to you except using an available DID and your time to set it up locally.
