Creating a Windows 2000 Service

I am looking for help in getting started with a Win 2K service. I have a program written that I know want to convert to a service. That is, I want it to have an Icon in the Notification Area depicting that it is running, but don't want the application to be in full view or even on the toolbar when not in use. I do not want the user to be able to shut down the program.
