I need to create a report which groups on dates between 07/01/2003 and 01/01/2004 however the date is not formatted as a date field and can not be changed as it is being accessed from an oracle table.

I need to break the report in to weekly events and have no idea how to do it.

I have read somewhere that you can use cvdate on the data but i am not sure how this is done . Can it be done through query

thanks in advance

Donna,
There is a function called CDate, which will convert a string into a date. Obviously, you will need to test the conversion to see if it works. You can then use this function to create a new field which can then be used in your criteria. See my FAQ's on these topics:
Create custom field using functions (like CDate): [faq701-3273]
Use query and form to send criteria to the report: [faq703-2696]
