Creating a VPN

I have just been told to set up a VPN for our Novell network.
I have been told that Bordermanager is the only solution.

My current configuration is
Netware 4.11 on two servers.
IPX only.
Arcserve 6.6 for backup of both servers

Internet access is dsl with dhcp provided by an Efficeint Networks dsl router.

I do not need or want to restrict internet access to any users either on or off the Novell network.

I only need 2 connections. Do I need to match the user count on my server or can I just buy the licenses I need?

Do I need to upgrade one or both servers to 5.1 or 6?

I have 4 workstations that must run on MSDOS 6.22. The software does not work reliably in a windows box. Every thing is running flawlessly with my current configuration and I hate to change it if I don't have to. The VPN users do not need to access this server. Some internal users need to access both servers but not at the same time.

All other users use 98,NT or XP.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Steve

Upgrade to atleast 5.1, if you run into problems with the VPN, Novell will not support you running on 4.11.

BorderManager should include a run time license. It will allow 2 users to connect.

I like to build BM server on their own box in their own tree, not insert them in my production tree when I use them for site-to-site VPN (when it's client to site, it a bit different). If all you want ot use them for is VPN, then this will work fine for you. If you use other features and expect reports, then you will want the BM server in your tree.
