Creating a VPN connection between a PIX 501 and a D-Link VPN router 1

I've been experimenting with creating a VPN tunnel using a PIX 501 and a D-Link VPN router (DI-824VUP). Has anyone had sucess connecting two networks this way? Or should I be considering a PIX to PIX connection? Or a D-Link to D-Link?
Currently, the PIX allows 5 users to VPN into the main office using Cisco's VPN software client. I still need to support 2 of the clients with the current PIX config but the other 3 are in a single remote office. I figure a hardware VPN tunnel would be better than having three software VPN clients tunnel in.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks.
