Creating a view on server to be used by many users for mail merge

I have an Access 2000 database that users rely on heavily for mail merges, this of course created many headaches so I have develpoed a SQL backend and VB .NET front end to avoid the issues I am having with Access and record locking. Now I want to add the mail merge capability and create the data source once, but have many users get to use it. Anyone have any suggestions?? Will creating Registration Entries of my local ODBC connection work on networked computers(to autoinstall the registry keys locally on user computers)??

If anyone can tell me if I am going down the right path I would greatly appreciate it.
