I have a couple of terms I am looking into the positions of on MSN. I was curious to find out how I would go about coding a simple page that would check the SE position on a daily level.

Essentially I would like to check for a specific URL and just track on each day where that position is. I know that there are automated softwares that do this for multiple terms and sites. However, all I want is to build my own page that does this since I want to place it on my site for my own uses, and it would help me learn new programmming techniques.

I was wondering how to go about this and what I need to know and do.

I appreciate your help.

Is there some advice you could offer? I was thinking curl would be part of the equation, however I am not that great a programer and I do need some direction to start experimenting.

I appreciate your help!
