I am a newbie to scripting and have been given a task for which i need the help of those here.

I have 4 1TB NAS Filesystems that i need to fill up with realtively (but changing) small files.

The sizes of these files can be different for each of the 4 filesystems in question, here are the sizes:

1) 300K
2) 500K
3) 200K
4) 1MB

What i need is a script that would rapidly repeat itself and populate these filesystems, this is for a backup speed test in which these file sizes represent our application data output.

If you folks can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

man dd (the conv=sync option).

Hope This Helps, PH.
