OK, the title was long, and I am not sure if this is possible, so here it goes...

I am compiling a bargaining unit Seniority Report that will have the following information:

1: Bargaingin Unit Seniority Days as of Dec 7 2001 from our Legacy System (stored in an access database)by EMPLID

2: A query of PeopleSoft data that will include a calculation of workdays for FT and PT employees MINUS certain types of leave that do not count as seniority days.

My Question is: How do I set this up, given the linking problem that looms?

Thanks!

Oops, I forgot something:

3: a sum of 1&2

Have you actually done any work on this, or just feared that it may not work?

Provided that the 2 databases have a field name that is the same data type and length, they should link. I have done this many times.

If this does not work, a workaround is to create a link table in MS Access to your PeopleSoft database using the PeopleSoft ODBC drivers. Crystal would read both files as an access file and that totally removes linking issues as they relate to 2 different file types.

Also, consider using the access databases itself, rather than a query of the data, as the report source.

Finally, once you do have a good link, any mathematical manipulation of this data that is possible in Crystal is available to you, I would anticipate no problems. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

You are correct, I was just freaking out before making the eport, as I was just notified I had to create it yesterday and have a monday deadline before it has to go to the Union Office.

Thanks for the help! I will post again if I hit any walls!
