I book events in my job. When I book one, I need to open a Word document of a contract and change the names, dates, times and other parameters in the contract to reflect what we agreed upon for each event. The contract stays the same, but the information about each event changes each time. I'd like to create some sort of questionnaire that when I'm booking the event I can simply fill in the answers to the questions and after I'm done it will auto populate the appropriate places in the Word document. I'm not that computer saavy. sorry.

Thank you,

I have started to do this and have the pop-up coming up when I open the word template...but I must have done something wrong because the bookmarks aren't populating. Let me ask you this: In the instructions you sent me it says:

"2.

Create two bookmarks in your template named “Text1” and “Text2”. To create each bookmark, select a single space so that when you turn on the option to see the bookmarks under Tools>Options>View, the bookmarks appear as [] rather than |. When you create bookmarks with a space selected like this, the text will be inserted inside the bookmark, rather than after it."

I cannot find Tools>Options>View in Word 2007 in my template. Thus, when I make a particular bookmark in the template, I cannot see if I did or not.

Hi teamfaith,

In Word 2007, check 'Show bookmarks' under Word Options|Advanced > Show document content.

ok...thanks. But now, I realize I have the same bookmark name "Client_Name" that I need to show up in multiple places. I thought I was making a bookmark with that code name each time in each place, but it only shows up in the last place I put the bookmark. Any suggestions? And I have about 19 different fields to be filled in my userform, but it gets hung up at one and then it only shows a few of them in the document.

Hi teamfaith,

It seems you've confused bookmarks with cross-references.

The bookmark is applied to whatever is the first instance of the data appearing in the document. From then on, you use a cross-reference (Insert|Cross-reference) to replicate the bookmark's contents.
