Hi all,

As a beginner of using Approach, I am trying to create a form using an input parameter. The command used in MS Access is a parameter query that prompts for criteria each time it's run and I wanted to know how the same can be achieved using Approach.

Thanx for the help,

Tomr

It is simple in Approach to just put the fields you want the user to be able to put values into on a form view as read-only. Then switch to that view using a macro VIEW command, then a FIND command with the option to let the user enter conditions, and after the FIND another VIEW command to show the results if you do not want to show them on the current form view.

Or, let the user use the Find Assistant to do queries.

Finally, another method is to do a Find using variable-type fields. There is a good example of using start and end dates in a Find over on XpertSS.com in the Lotus Approach section. Register there to see the special FAQs section and look in the Tips folder for this information.
