Creating a passworded section

has anybody created a password section in front page, so certain pages can only be accessed via a signin page?

It is fairly easy and depends on your servers OS. Also, some web host providers block the ability to set permissions with FP, which stinks since the FP permissions is pretty good and easy to set. See tutorials and more detailed info on how here:
