Creating a new year in GL

Hi everyone,
When I try to create a new year in GL I get the following errors:

"Account Fiscal Set. Database error (operation=REV-POST, error=0).

Internal error. GLYRN: Post GLFISC2 failed. (3060 GLYRN1.C). Write down the message, leave ACCPAC and Windows and return to the system prompt. Reset your computer and try the task again. See Appendix A in the G/L User Guide.

Posting Sequence 2380 completed."


The new fiscal year has been created through the fiscal calendar icon and all open batches for the current year have been posted.

Version?
Database?
Service packs?

Check that the closing period for the current year is not locked, however this will not generate this error.
This type of error normally indicates a database corruption. Run the data integrity check on GL and also run Database Setup/Verify.

I took the above information from the system information window.

I will run data Integrity on GL tonight as it takes a long time to run then i will run the database verify and report my findings as soon as i'm done.

For starters update your service packs, there is a SP2 for GL53A and SP1 for GL53B. I recall a problem in GL create new year if you do not have the service pack installed. You can also increase the number of years the GL retains, the error relates to this setting.

Thanx ettiene, after updating my service packs I was able to successfully create a new year in GL.
