Hi,

I'm trying to make a network ring (for fail over) for the connection between our three datacenters.

The hardware i can use are four Procurve 2824 Switches.

In the tests i'm doing (with copper instead of fiber), it doesn't seem to work..

I have setup the config according to the documentation of HP with the RSTP enabled and all settings put in place for that.
But in this case no traffic is going over the ring.. but with stp disabled there is traffic, but no/limited faulttolarance on the ring..

Is there anyone who has a similar config which is working properly ?

Thanx in advance

Thanx,

Lon

You should make one switch, normally the "core" switch ROOT. You should also make one backup, the one closest to the core. Do not let the switches elect the ROOT, it takes time and you will not have a predictable network
