creating a letter and then merging data into it

Please remember to post your software version with any software question.
You can use the File->New->under experts select Form Letter to aid in this task (depending upon your sdoftware version).
In general you might right click the details section and select format section->New Page After if you have 1 page letters, and then the data will be available for each row per page.

No matter, just group by the row id (or something unique) set the new page after in the group footer, then place in text objects and type away, then drop the fields/formulas into the text objects where required.
