creating a image map on a image

Ok, first off, I know how to create image maps in Image Ready and in DW, but my situation is slightly different. I have a bg image which I also has a navigation menu on it. I rotated the navigation menu on slightly. Now the menu is slanted, but you can only create image maps that are on a striaght path. How can I create a image map on a rotation?
I tried Image Ready to rotate the menu straight, then created the slices, but when I rotate the image back to its original way, the slices get all screwed up.
Any ideas?? And does this make any sense at all?? Once again, thanks...

If I understand you correctly, this would not be a problem in GoLive. You can draw an image map almost any shape using a pen tool. The angles of your images don't matter. Can't you do this in DW?

SPYDERIX, I know what you mean, I will try to upload the bg image when I get home tonight.

rickwells, In DW you can create image maps, but just like in Image Ready they are on a striaght path. I have Go LIve, maybe I can give that a shot. But can the finish product be saved as a .gif or a .jpg?? Cauase after all, this is my bg image with the navigation menu built into it.

Your final image with navigation rollovers etc would be produced in Imageready and placed in position on your web page in GoLive. Then you would draw the image map areas over your image and do the links using GoLive tools.

rickwells, well I just re-checked DW and notice you might be able to make irregular image maps, by using anchor points. I will try that at home tonight and get back to you guys.

rickwells, I tried the irregular image points but no luck. The image is a BG image so I can't even create maps in DW. In DW it has to be an image in order to use the image maps feature.
This is a copy of my bgimage, any one have any ideas?? Remember its gonna go up on the site as a BG image.

Can't access this web page.
What about a floating box over the BG image. Put in a small transparent gif and enlarge to fill the area. This woulld be an iinvisible image on to which you can do an image map. I've never done it but it might work.

I thought about the floatig box, but when the user has different screen resolution, resizes the browser window the floating box will appear somewhere else.
