Creating a Formula that flags records

Greetings!

I have created a report that lists Projects and Tasks along with their respective Start and End Dates. I want the report to show when a task is late by flagging it with an asterisk. I tried creating a formula that says:

If Task.End Date is > Project.End Date then

ok, there's my problem. Would I even use an if... then or should it be something else?

Please advise.

That sounds correct.

Create a formula with:

If {Task.End Date} is > {Project.End Date} then
"*"
ELSE
""

Display this formula where appropriate.
