HI,

Is there a way to create a filesystem on DVD ?

As far as I know - on AIX it can only be written with "backup" format. "Long live king Moshiach !"

Hi

You can make a mksysb, savevg Backup to the DVD Media.
This will work with the mkcd Command.

I think your Question is, to create a FS like JFS on the DVD and read/write Data to it.
This is not possible in this way.

Try the CDRECORD package from Bull, you can create UNIX compatible CDs and DVDs.
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.

Thanks,

I have downloaded it but I think it's only for backup. the only information I found is:
Cdrecord allows cd writers to be controlled from AIX and also allows ISO filesystems to be created.
With AIX-4.3.3 and later it is possible to use this tool to make bootable backup CDs with the AIX 'mkcd' command.
