I have a customer who has somewhat of an odd request, and I haven't been able to figure out any way to easily do this. They have this voicemail computer that isn't a normal style, and its able to route calls by using the switchhook from their auto att. messages that are played. However, there are a few options that forward to the same extension, and they'd like a way to know where in the system the customer ended up. So for example if they are in the "support" category, they'd like to know that the call is coming from "support." I thought it would be easiest to just try and forward the call to a high extension thats unused, and then just have it forward back so that extension would appear on their display phones. But that won't work unless I physically plug a phone in and turn on forwarding on that phone. Is there any way to do something like this without having to add phones just to forward calls? They have a partner ACS R3.0 processor and we use the PC Administration software with their remote PC card. Thanks! John

Hi djmwjk,
Create a group, say 72 (or 73 or 74) with those extensions in it. Include a ringer on an extension in that group also. That way, the call is transferred and the phones ring including the ringer (also called a loud bell). The voicemail transfers to the calling group (72 ~74). Calling group 71 is normally reserved for an all page.
