Specs: MICS 7.0, NVM 4.1 on NAM. Copper trunks, one simple line pool (Pool A).

I just got external call forwarding enabled by creating a route and destination code (8 -- it wouldn't let me use 9 which it looks like is our "Extrnl code").

I'd like to do one better in certain situations, and make an "extension" (say 401, to avoid conflicting with our real extensions, 2xx) that you could call or transfer to, and it would actually dial out a particular external number.

Is this possible? Crazy? I appreciate any guidance you might provide. I know i could do this by having a phone permanently forwarded, but I'd really rather not waste the port and the phone because i don't have many to spare.

Thanks!

In order to use "9" you must disable pool code 9 (system program, access codes, line pool codes & external code)then it will let you use 9.
I beleive you must have a real station to forward out. Like a 7208 in the eq room?

Here is what i'd do ...
For internal callers - use speed dials
For internal transfer - use transfer, access code, external number
For external callers - i'd use CCR transfers
