Hello

I am quite new to this so please bear with me.

To get an idea of what I am trying to accomplish.

I have a friend who opened a new vet clinic and he needs a data base for its customers. I can create the data base with no problems. my issue here is creating a CRUD type application that he can use to update, search, add new customers etc. I don't even know how to start here.

Is there an application that I can modify for my needs (like CRUD for MySql) ?

Thanks for any help.

You can build a front-end pretty easily out of Access. Do they have MS Office?

Yes they have - don't really remeber if its 2003 or 2007 but they do have.

Can i use forms from access to make the front end app ?

Yes.

You can link in ODBC tables from the SQL Server, or else build SQL queries off the SQL tables if need be, and pull the data in via passthrough queries.

If you're just adding to a table, and such, then it would make sense to link in the tables you're updating. Just make sure the users have the correct SQL permissions.

Then you can use the linked-in SQL tables pretty much the same way you use built-in Access tables.

If the tables are REALLY huge - aka multiple millions of records, particular if many columns AND millions of records, then some things may run slow. But for basic looking at one record at a time, or adding one record at a time, that sort of thing, you shouldn't have any issues.
