Hi,

Within our company we have several spreadsheets that hold different graphs and data. What I need to do is to display those graphs on our Intranet. My favoured choice of method at the moment (you guys may have a better solution) is to have a new file that has copies of all the graphs in and is linked to them. That file will just be saved as html to output the required gifs.

Any comments or advice on this will be gratefully received, especially on whether I can have graphs in one file that are fed their data from other files.

Graphs can reside in one file and be fed their data from another without any problems.

You have to consider a few things if thats what you want though.

For example, if the second file is linked to the orginal graphs, then any change to the data will cause a change to the graphs. I am not sure whether this will work if you are then publishing links to the second file.

Also, any breakages in links between files will stop access to accurate graphs.

To avoid this, I would copy and paste the graphs with no links into a second file and have links to this second file from the Intranet. If data changes, its a pain in the rear, but you will need to copy and paste new or updated graphs into the second file again.

I hope this makes sense!

Yes it makes sense, how do I link a sheet to the Intranet so that the graph appears though?

I was just going to use the save as HTML option and post the output gif's as the graphs only need to be updated on the website once a month.

Sorry Cheech, going the HTML route was what I was trying to suggest in my last paragraph above.

That'll be the easiest and simplest way to achieve what you want. Also, management of the whole thing is reduced (especially if you only want to update these graphs once a month).
