Hi all,

I'm running Actuage 6 e.Report Designer Proffesional, and I'm editing a report which executes fine on our server.

When I run it locally however, it chokes on

CreateJavaObject("classname")

I get "Basic Error 98 : .... Create Java Virtual Machine Failed : Bad File Descriptor"

Does anyone know what would cause this error?

Thanks!

~ Jon

I have since Installed a Microsoft JVM install to see if this made a difference..

It did, but not a useful one.

"Create Java Virtual Machine Failed: No such file or directory

1. I would suggest to download JVM from Sun site.
2. Check your ClassPath

That's what I started with.. the SUN JVM, and my classpath was fine.. I can find the class from the command line due to the classpath just fine.

I remember I was using Sun JDK 1.3.1 or something with Actuate 6.0

I tried executing the sample report (Actuate\ErdPro\Example\Java Object Interfact\ with out JVM installed. I got the same error you got ("Create Java Virtual Machine Failed: No such file or directory") Then I installed Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.3.1_11 and the report ran just fine.

Ahh, thanks.. I was running SDK 1.4.1_02
