I would like to know how to set up a VPN using L2TP Ipsec, with SSL encapsulation. This will be between a Windows XP Pro machine and Windows 2000 server. I am a bit of a newbie to VPNs but am able to comfortably set up a normal PPTP VPN between these two operating systems. Is there a web site or good book that will guide me through the process from scratch? Or would anyone be able to tell me on here? Also, I have tried setting up the connection using just IPsec, and in the client machine (Win XP Pro) I type in a pre-shared key in IPsec settings. Where do I type this key in on Windows 2000 Server? If your wondering why I want to know this, I am testing the capability of various DSL routers on the market to see if they can handle multiple outgoing VPNs simultaniously, using differnet varients of VPN.
