Hi ALL

# uname -a
SunOS lsi 5.6 Generic_105181-26 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-2

We have an 18gig disk mounted on the following which is 100% full.

/dev/dsk/c2t9d0s2 17413250 17197123 41995 100% /user08

We also have another drive mounted on user05 which is only 17% full.

/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s2 17413250 2766289 14472829 17% /user05

Is there anyway i can greate a volume for moth of these devices so i can potentially have 32gigg and mount as one mountpoint.

I do not have md or VERITAS installed on box. Or is this the course of ACTION!!

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...
THANKS IN ANVANCE!
SIMON

Hi Simon,

if you are not using any virtual disk management like Solstice Disk Suite or Veritas VM then the creation of a partition on multiple disks is not possible and creating "volumes" (Veritas) or "metadevices" (SDS) is not possible without the disk management software either.

We use Veritas VM for every machine we set up and formerly used SDS. Veritas VM is quite good to handle. The downside of it is: it will cost you!
